Frequently Asked Questions about our Scavenger Hunt Events

How does the Scavenger Hunt Route work? (Do I need to follow a set trail?)

No. You’ll be given a physical map and clues, but how you tackle them is up to you. Follow the suggested trail, go rogue, or wander artistically. Just don’t trespass or attempt shortcuts through hedges. We’ve tried. It ends in nettles.

What if it rains?

Then it’s atmospheric. The QR codes are waterproof; we hope you are too. Bring a coat, a sense of humour, and possibly a laminated friend.

What equipment do I need for the event?

  • A Smartphone: Fully charged with internet access (Essential).

  • Power Bank: Bring backup juice if your phone always seems to go flat.

  • One Adult (18+): To supervise the chaos.

  • Sensible Shoes: It’s a park, not a catwalk.

  • Bribes for the Marshals: (Biscuits preferred, cash accepted)

Is it a race?

Officially? No. It is a cerebral journey of discovery. Unofficially? We know you will check your watch the second you start. (See also: Is it competitive?)

What if we get lost?

You’re not lost. You’re "exploring with intent." (But also, yes, marshals will be on hand to direct you back on track).

Is it competitive or just for fun?

Both. Some teams sprint to solve the mystery first to claim intellectual superiority. Others wander slowly, argue over clues, and stop for snacks. All approaches are valid, provided you finish before the park closes.

How long does it take?

Most teams finish in 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on pace, clue-solving ability, and how often they stop to argue about whether that tree looks “suspicious.”

Is this outdoor activity suitable for children and families?

Yes. We design our outdoor adventures to be family-friendly, although the logic puzzles are calibrated for adult brains. However, we find that children are often much better at the physical scavenger hunt elements (spotting the hidden markers) than their parents. We recommend ages 8+, provided they bring a responsible adult to hold the map and stop them climbing the clues.

Do we need to book in advance?

Yes. The mystery waits for no one, and we need time to calibrate the clues, print your briefing, and warn the local wildlife you are coming.

Event Registration & Start Times (Or: When should we arrive for the briefing?)

Please arrive 30 minutes before your ticketed start time. This window allows you to complete the event registration, claim your badge of passage, and engage in awkward small talk with your rivals before the clock starts ticking. Arriving early ensures you catch the full safety briefing and ensures your tech is ready before the mystery begins.
